Ward & Chowen have been running the Tavistock Livestock Centre since the middle of 19th century. We specialise in the sale of store stock, and have built up an enviable reputation selling good quality cattle and sheep to buyers from all over the country.

Large monthly, catalogued store cattle sales are held as well as seasonal breeding sheep and suckled calf sales. Forthcoming Sales

DARTMOOR

The most significant natural feature in our area is Dartmoor. As with any significant landscape feature, careful management is required to ensure that both the amenity of the area is maintained and the livelihoods of our farming clients, who derive an income from the moor, protected.

Ward & Chowen has a good working relationship with all of the authorities that contribute towards the management of the moor, including Devon County Council, The Dartmoor National Park, Natural England, The Ministry of Defence and The Dartmoor Commoners Council. This enables us to provide a variety of unique services for our clients with interests on the moor. These services include the negotiation of specific MOD licences across the Okehampton Range and apportionment of Commons Rights where sales, disposals and divisions of land on Dartmoor take place.
